Creating a new profession example

Example 1

You own a hostess company so you need to create and set the hostess profession in Sinch.

  1. Go to the main menu on the left and click SettingsStaff.
  2. Click the Profession tab.
  3. Click Add profession.

Fill in the fields in the following dialog:

    1. Enter Hostess as the Title of the new profession.
    2. Fill in the Description of the profession, e. g. “Hostesses welcome guests and event attendees and distribute leaflets.”

    3. It is necessary to set whether staff members can choose the profession themselves in their profiles. If there are no special requirements for your staff members to become a hostess, in the field Staff members can choose this profession, you choose YES.

    4. Then you need to choose whether your new profession will be automatically assigned to your female staff members, male staff members, both or neither when they sign up.

    Tip

For more details and examples about price lists and price types, see Price Lists.

    1. Select for which position you want to set a price list: a staff member (hostess) or a lead worker (lead hostess/crewboss). First, you want to set prices for staff members so you click on Staff member. You want to keep the price type at "Fix rate with hour range".
    2. For staff member role, set the fixed price for shifts that last up to 5 hours to 10€, and an hourly rate for shifts longer than 5 hours to 8€.
    3. Do the same thing for the lead hostess/crewboss role, just set 12 as the fixed rate for up to 5 hours shifts, and 10€ as an hourly rate for longer shifts.

Lead hostess/crew bosses are the lead workers with more responsibility so they are more expensive staff members.

  4. Click Save.

Example 2

Your hostess company is running successfully so you just decided to expand. Your company will now also provide and manage models. So you need to create and set the new models profession in Sinch.

Follow the steps from above with these differences:

You know your clients require models with experience so you need to verify that before you let somebody work as a model for you. For that reason, select NO in the field Staff members can choose this profession. That way no one will be able to choose the model profession by themselves in their profile and you will always have control over it as an administrator.

You know that the number of females working as models will be lower than the number of females working as hostesses. So you select No in the Auto assign to drop-down menu for models; you want the hostess profession to be auto-assigned instead.

And that’s it!

Your new profession now appears in the overview table. In the Actions section on the right, you can edit it, delete it or mark as primary. Marking a profession as primary means that this profession is pre-filled when creating a new shift.
